(Please pardon the reflection in the glass in the area of her dress.) This old advertising art piece was intended to be displayed and each year the cosmetics company did a different one. This one is a 1923 original Pompeian Beauty Panel (with advertising on the back of it). The artist is Gene Pressler (noted in the plate bottom center). Mary Pickford's facsimile signature right side; publisher marked lower left edge. Excellent pre-owned condition for its age showing no issues with the panel, the frame or the old, wavy, bubble glass. Age patina on the carved wood frame but no chips, splits missing pieces or damage. When I got it about fifteen years ago the frame was glued in the corners and it fell apart, so I re-glued the corners. Original card backer, nails and wire hanger. Ready to hang. The panel shows no stains, tears, holes foxing, fading or any waviness of the card weight medium. It has not been trimmed and it has the appropriate advertising on the back of it. The frame was made to fit the panel not the other way around. Note the hanging hole top center edge of the panel.
